Supplementary voter list for Thanjavur released

Thanjavur: District Collector A. Annadurai today released the supplementary voter list for Thanjavur assembly constituency. The constituency has a total of 2,68,516 voters.
As per the supplementary voter list, women voters outnumber men. There are 1,30,146 male voters, 1,38,352 female voters and 18 trans genders in the constituency.
“The supplementary voter list has now been kept for public viewing in the taluk office and revenue divisional office,” Annadurai said.
Representatives of various political parties were present on the occasion.
The Election Commission of India has appointed Sheik Ahamed of West Bengal as observer. “On the orders of the election commission, six more flying squads, nine more static surveillance teams and two more video surveillance teams have been constituted to ensure free and fair elections. Four cases have been registered against political parties for violating the election model code of conduct,” the Collector added.
