Swachh Bharat Tour De Rotary to arrive in city on Dec 6

The month-long Kashmir to Kanyakumari Swachh Bharat Tour De Rotary that started form Jammu on November 7 will arrive here on December 6.
After an over night’s stay, the rallyists, comprising 22 cyclists, will proceed to Kochi and then reach Kanyakumari on December 9, president of Rotary district 3201, C.T. Thiagarajan told reporters here today.
“The Rotary Foundation centennial cycle rally is being conducted by Rotary Club of Madras Midtown, RI District 3230, to promote the 100 years of good works done by Rotary Foundation, which raise funds for humanitarian service project including clean and green India projects,” he said.
District collector T.N. Hariharan, along with Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan will flag off the rally from here.
Around 50 cyclists from the city will join the national cyclists and 150 students will extend support and ride along with them a distance of about five kms, Thiagarajan added.
