The interrogation of Ramkumar in the Swathi murder case has thrown more details into the case.

According to police, Ramkumar had fallen in love with Swathi and expressed his love to her in a Vishnu temple near the mansion where he was staying. Swathi was a regular to the temple. Swathi, it is learnt, had slapped him, in turn.

Ramkumar had come to Chennai in September 2015 to attend tuition classes to clear his BE arrears. He left the city in December last during the floods and returned in April.

During the interrogation, police found Ramkumar’s statement about one of Swathi’s friend contradictory. The friend was called for interrogation.

Mohammad Siddique Bilal, the victim’s friend, revealed that Swathi had mentioned about Ramkumar in one of her messages to him.

Meanwhile, Ramkumar’s advocate S.P. Ramraj, said he would file contempt of court against the police as he was not allowed to meet his client. However, police had permitted the lawyer’s assistant Ravindran to meet Ramkumar.

Ravindran later alleged that the investigations were not fair and that they would file a petition seeking CBI probe very soon.
