T.E.A sponsors Rs.1 lakh to Tirupur athlete participating in Olympics

In order to encourage sportspersons, Tirupur Exporters’ Association (TEA) has sponsored Rs.1 lakh to Dharun Ayyasamy, an athlete from Tirupur district, who is participating in the Rio Olympics.

Dharun, hailing from Ravuthampalayam village near Avinashi, Tirupur district, is participating in the 4X400 metres relay event.

TEA president, A. Sakthivel said he is glad that an athlete from Tirupur is going to represent the country at the Olympics, which is a proud moment for all of us, and wished him to bring the glory to India for the first time in the 4X400 metres men’s relay event.

“As part of showing its support and encouragement, TEA has sponsored Rs.1 lakh, and has handed over the cheque to Dharun Ayyasamy’s mother, Poongodi, in Tirupur today,” he said.
