Coimbatore, Dec 7 Kongunaddu Makkal Desiya Katchi (KMDK) today urged Tamil Nadu government to take stringent action against those who failed to bring to its notice about the danger posed by the compound wall which claimed 17 lives in Nadur village five days ago.

A special panel should be formed to conduct a detailed inquiry with the officials, who reportedly neglected the complaints lodged by the locals and political parties, kMDK president, E R Eswaran said.

Though the land owner was arrested, the government must follow up and punish the officials concerned, he said, after visiting the area to console the bereaved families.
