Chennai police is now on the lookout against Tamil film producer and managing partner of Vendhar Movies, S Madhan, after few students lodged a complaint against him for taking money, promising medical seats in the SRM university here.

Madhan had gone missing on Sunday after ‘writing a letter stating he was off to Varanasi to take samadhi’ amid charges by several students that he had cheated them by collecting money in return for medical college seats in the prestigious SRM private university.

According to complaints with the police, Madhan is accused to have collected a sum of Rs 200 crore. The reason why he went missing, police said, are due to differences between him and the founder of the India Jananayaka Katchi (IJK) and the SRM Group Paarivendhar.

Madhan claimed that he had worked hard to build SRM brand and make it what it was today. The film producer’s friend T Siva of Amma Creations went in search of the missing producer in Varanasi.

The SRM varsity chancellor Paarivendhar alleged that the film producer was deliberately trying to damage the good name of the institution that has tremendous goodwill among the people.

On Wednesday morning, several students filed complaint with the Chennai City Police Commissioner , alleging that Madhan had escaped with Rs 200 crore, after collecting the money from students, promising them admission to professional courses in SRM Group of institutions.

The students also held a protest demonstration in front of Paarivendhar’s house in the city last evening.

Madhan’s first wife, Sindhu, also field a complaint with the police to trace the whereabouts of her husband. His second wife too had filed a similar complaint with the police.
