Chennai: Tamil Nadu police on Saturday visited the beach resort near Chennai to enquire about the condition of AIADMK legislators staying there, according to officials.

The police action comes a day after the Madras High Court adjourned to February 12 its hearing on habeas corpus petitions filed by two advocates to trace two AIADMK legislators.

The State Government counsel informed the court that the legislators were not in illegal custody and sought time to get information about their whereabouts.

The ruling AIADMK has a total 135 legislators.

Legislators supporting AIADMK General Secretary V.K. Sasikala were taken in buses and have been made to stay in a resort since Wednesday.

On Friday some AIADMK legislators belonging to Sasikala camp told media that they were staying in the resort on their own and were not held in captivity.
