The University of Tasmania has invited applications from students aspiring for studies in civil engineering in Australia.

The University offers two fully accredited Engineering courses, the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and the Master of Professional Engineering.

The undergraduate offering is a four-year full-time offering with embedded honours with a common first three semesters, which moves into specialising in Civil/Mechanical/ and Electrical disciplines in the second year and then offers a choice of different specialisations, a varsity release said today.

The Master of Professional Engineering (Specialisation) in Civil and Structural Engineering is a two or three year full-time postgraduate qualification and has the option of credit for prior learning for students coming from the same engineering specialization.

The course provides students with in-depth theory and practices in the Civil and Structural Engineering discipline and covers Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering (Steel and Timber), Transport engineering and project management, along with geotechnical and rock engineering giving students an opportunity to apply for jobs not only in residential projects but also for mining and government infrastructure projects.

The programmes are recognised by Engineers Australia and Washington ACCORD making it a globally recognised qualification, it claimed.

Professor Andrew Chan – Head of School of Engineering and ICT at University of Tasmania, is visiting the city on October 19 and address a seminar, from which the aspirants can experience the smartest study experience in Australia.
