Ooty: The body of a 58-year old tea grower, who had been reported missing since last two days, was found in his estate, with severe injuries on abdomen and legs.

Chandran, who had gone to his tea estate after food from his house in Kundapalam, some 40 km from here, on Wednesday last, did not return and his family members and relatives were in search of him.

They lodged a missing complaint, police said.

Some estate workers, returning home late last evening, sensed foul smell from a bush and noticed Chandran lying with deep cuts in the abdomen and legs, reportedly inflicted by wild gaur, they said.

Police rushed there and recovered the body late last night and sent it for post mortem. Further investigations were on, they said.
