Dejected over her marks in the just announced plus two results, a 17-year-old girl hanged herself at her house in Pollachi yesterday.
Harshini, who had scored 968 marks, was upset that the marks would not get her medical seat. She took the extreme steps when her parents were away for work.
Police are investigating.
