Teenager drowns to death

A 14-year-old boy met a watery grave in a river, when he was caught in a powerful undercurrent, near Valparai in Coimbatore.
The boy, Jebas, was studying in Class VIII of the government school near Valparai. He had gone to take bath last evening in Koozhangal River in an estate, about 90 Kilometres from Coimbatore. He was drowned when he was caught in the undercurrent.
Police and rescue personnel searched all night to find Jebas, but they managed to locate his body only in the morning. The body was sent for post mortem.
Further investigations are on.
