Three killed in accidents involving TNSTC buses

Three persons were killed in three different accidents involving the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) buses.

According to police, the drivers’ negligence and rash driving were the reasons behind the three accidents.
In the first accident, which happened at the Mettupalayam-Karamadai road, the bus rammed against a two-wheeler in front of the Oasis Restaurant on the Mettupalayam Road.

The rider, Manoj (31), was rushed to the Government Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Manoj, it is learnt, was not wearing a helmet at the time of accident. The bus driver, Rajesh, is yet to be apprehended.

Another TNSTC bus rammed against a motorbike on the Pollachi-Valparai Road, killing the rider Karuppusamy (39) on the spot. Karuppusamy too was not wearing a helmet. Efforts are on to arrest the bus driver Manikandan.

In another accident near Cross Cut Road here, Byas (26) son of Dawod Khan of Slevapuram, sustained grievous head injuries and died on the spot.Police are yet to arrest the driver M. Kannan.
