A scientist from Forest College and Research Institute (FCRI) in Mettupalayam has received three awards instituted by Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun, recently. He was attending a three-month certificate course at the institution.
Dr. K. Bharanidharan, Assistant Professor (Forestry), Department of Forest Products and Utilization of Forest College and Research Institute, Mettupalayam, affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, had completed the certificate course on Wildlife Management conducted by the WII from November 1 to January 30 in Dehradun. The course is offered for in-service forest department field executives of South Asian countries. 24 scientists from India, Myanmar, and Malaysia participated in the course.
Bharanidharan received three awards – Gold Medal for Wildlife Conservation, Silver Medal for Best All-Round Wildlifer, and Silver Medal for Wildlife Management.
The awards were given away by WII Director, Dr. V.P. Mathur, at a function held at Dehradun.
