Central govt orders extension of CBI Director Praveen Sood’s tenure for another year
The transport department officials have detained 11 vehicles for not meeting the prescribed requirements in the two-day special checks conducted in the Coimbatore Zone recently.
According to a press release, the department officials had conducted checks in areas within the Coimbatore zone on February 19 and 20. During the surprise checks, the officials had collected fines amounting to Rs.3,54,700, and unpaid taxes amounting to Rs.93,345. They had earlier fixed a target of collecting fines of Rs.1,91,300 and tax of Rs.15,000, but managed to outperform it.
