In its recent revision, the University Grants Commission (UGC) had increased the scholarship amount under the Swami Vivekananda Single Girl Child Fellowship for Research in Social Sciences, with effect from 1.12.2014.
The amount has been revised from Rs.12,400 to Rs.25,000 per month for the first two years as per the recent revisions based on a circular sent by UGC Secretary Jaspal S. Sandhu, dated February 2016. The amount for the third and fourth years has also been increased from Rs.15,500 to Rs.28,000 per month. The amount is extendable for the fifth year also under unavoidable and reasonable circumstances.
