VAO, assistant arrested for accepting bribes

A Village Administrative Officer (VAO) and his assistant were arrested, in Nallur, near Tirupur district, while accepting money from a person to show official favours, today.
Based on the complaint from one Velmurugan that the officials were demanding money to issue a paper on land deed, the sleuths from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) set a trap and asked him to give marked notes to the officials.
The corrupt officials – VAO Ilamparithi, and his assistant, Rajesh – were caught red-handed, while accepting the money.
