NGO Vasantham Charitable Trust was started by Konsila .K in 2014 to empower the powerless. It works towards supporting the weaker sections of society.

A majority of projects are aimed towards achieving this goal. One such initiative of this Trust is the tailoring training unit that has been set up in Rathinapuri. This unit enrols women who cannot afford to pay free of cost. The women are also given an option to opt for a timing that matches their convenience to attend tailoring classes.

The idea of this training programme is to make women independent. Women who have undergone this tailoring training programme have found employment in big and small tailoring units in and around Coimbatore. So far hundreds of women have completed this training programme.

Vasantham Charitable Trust also works towards supporting the education of children from families who cannot afford to pay for the same. The centre in Rathinapuri also doubles up as a tuition centre where several Government school students study. Volunteers lend a helping hand to students who need extra coaching in various subjects.
