The idea of starting his own business has been on his mind ever since Vasanth Jerome was a kid. Armed with a degree in engineering, Vasanth and one of his friends started a software company four years ago in Coimbatore. The company did well. Instead of pocketing the profits, 24-year-old Vasanth launched his second venture, fastcovai.com, in 2014.

“This is an online departmental store. The plan was to ensure that everything from vegetables to provisions get delivered at home. I invested a sum of Rs.5 lakhs in this venture. In seven months, it began to make profits,” Vasanth says.

Vasanth’s website fastcovai.com has made shopping easy by dividing merchandise that is sold online into various categories like home care, baby care, pet care, personal care, and kitchen and food. The website’s homepage displays all the discounts and special schemes that are currently available on the products. Customers need to make a minimum purchase of Rs.500.

The purchases can be made 24 hours a day and throughout the year, but the products are delivered in two slots – between 7 AM and 9AM, and between 5 PM and 8 PM. Products can be ordered over the phone as well. Currently, the website offers only Cash on Delivery payment option.
