The forest department has issued a warning to the tourists at Valparai region, especially photographers, against approaching the birds, particularly those belonging to the endangered species, and disturbing them, as they are in the process of hatching the eggs.
According to the department officials, tourists flow has increased in recent times and many of them are in the habit of taking photographs of birds and wildlife. But, this being the hatching season, photographers climb trees and attempt to scare away the birds to get a good shot. But this disturbs the hatching process, leading to the death of the birds.
Keeping the safety of the birds in mind, the tourists and photographs have been warned to not to get close to them or climb the trees.
