Wannabe robber caught by public

Alert members of the crowd caught a 32-year-old man who attempted robbery at knifepoint on Thursday.

Mohammed Asar (30) runs a fruit stall near WPT junction in Coimbatore. On Thursday morning, the robber, G. Kundumurugan, entered his shop, flashed a knife and looted Rs.500 from him. When the robber tried to flee, he was caught by some of the members of the crowd.

He was later handed over to the police. The Race Course police have registered a case against him and are investigating.
