Washer men demand land pattas

Members of the Kovai District Washer men Association today appealed to the District Collector, T.N. Hariharan, to provide them with patta lands.
In a petition, more than 200 members said despite repeated pleas to the administration to provide land with pattas, it is still a distant dream.
“There are more than 100 families in Coimbatore that is involved in this business. We have been requesting the administration to provide us with a land for a long time. But nobody has listened to us so far,” C. Kumarasamy, president of the association, said.
