Water tanker runs over three students in Chennai

Three students of Chellammal Women’s College at Guindy in Chennai were killed on the spot and four others injured when a water tanker ploughed into a crowd on Anna Salai this afternoon.
The victims were identified as Chitra, Gayatri and Ayisha, all B. Com students. The injured were rushed to Government Royapettah Hospital. The driver of the tanker fled from the spot.
Traffic from Guindy to Little Mount was affected after the accident, as public staged a protest.
