Weekly shandies banned in Coimbatore Corporation limits

Coimbatore : In view of violation of lock down regulations like social distancing and wearing face masks, the Corporation banned the weekly shandies in its limits with immediate effect.

Asking the people to wear face masks while coming out, Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, J Sravana Kumar in a statement warned of imposing a fine of rs.100 on those who failed to do so.

It has come to the notice of the corporation that people are not wearing masks while going to the weekly shandies and markets and not maintaining
social  distancing, which will result in the spread of Coronavirus.

The district collector, K Rajamani had already i
ssued a stern warning to those who are not wearing face masks and informed that more than Rs.4 lakh as fine was collected from those failed to obey the rules.
