A 50-year old woman today created a flutter near the Coimbatore railway station, when she attempted to stab an auto rickshaw driver.

The woman, a rag picker, who was walking in the middle of the road, was asked by the driver to move to the side so he could take his vehicle, police said.

However, the woman argued with the driver and in a fit of rage took a knife from her gunny bag and advanced towards him to stab him. However, fellow drivers and some passersby caught hold of her and prevented her from inflicting any injuries, they said.

Police who arrived at the scene, searched her bag and found a few empty bottles and let her, after warning her not to come near the Station in future.
