Upset over her son not getting admission in a private matriculation school, a 30-year-old woman from Pollachi hung herself at her residence.

According to police, Sharada of Jameenuthukuli was upset as her son did not get a seat for class six in a private matriculation school. Last year the boy had studied in a Government school.

Sharada’s neighbours noticed her hanging and immediately informed police, who rushed to the spot and sent the body for postmortem to Pollachi Government Hospital. Further investigations are on.
