Woman pillion rider killed

A woman pillion rider was killed on the spot when she came under the wheels of a private bus after the bike in which she was travelling fell in a pit at Singanallur on Tuesday.
According to police, Somasundari, an employee of a private bank in Palladam, was on her way to work with her father in his two-wheeler. Suddenly the bike fell into a pit. In the impact, she was thrown off the vehicle and came directly under the wheels of a private bus, police said.
She was killed on the spot. Investigations are on.
