Woman stabbed to death in Cherai beach

A 29-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her lover at the Cherai beach near Kochi on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Sheetal of Varappuzha in Ernakulam.
According to police, Sheetal and her lover Prashant, had been to a temple before coming to the beach where an argument broke between the two. Pretending to console her, Prashant asked her to close her eyes. The unsuspecting woman obliged, when he stabbed her six times in her abdomen, police said.
With multiple injuries, Sheetal managed to reach the neighbouring resort, from where local people took her to a private hospital, where she died.
Police arrested Prashant, a native of Nedumkunnam in Kottayam. Police are on look out for another person, who ran away from the spot.
