Women voters outnumber men in Coimbatore, five constituencies

Women voters outnumbered men in Coimbatore District and also in five of the 10 Assembly constituencies, according to the draft electoral roll published today. Of the total number of 27,62,463 voters, there are 13,84,627 women voters, 13,77,652 men voters and 184 others. The women voters outnumbered men in the rural constituencies of Pollachi, Valparai, Kinathukadavu, Mettupalayam and Sulur.

Of the 2,68, 585 in Mettupalayam there are 1,32,702 men as against 1,35,867 women. In Sulur, of the 2,74,190, 1,36,302 are men and 1,37,867 are women. In Pollachi of the 2, 15,107 voters, it is 1, 53,776 v/s 1,09,723, in Valparai of the 1,93,642, there are 94,378 men and 98,895 women.

Kinathukadavu has 1, 42,601 men and 1,44,510 women. Kavundampalayam has a total of 3,99,382, 2,00,891 women and 1,98,361 men. Coimbatore North has a total of 2,98,160 voters, 1,50,531 women and 1,47,571 men. Coimbatore South has 2,39,041 voters, 1,19,874 men and 1,19,138 women. In Singanallur, of the 3, 00,036 voters, there are 1, 50,802 men and 1, 49,213 women. Kavundapalayam with 3,99,822 hasn’t the highest number of voters, while Valparai has the least number with 1,93,642.

Of the 184 others, Kavundapalayam has 30 voters, Thondamuthur and Coimbatore South 29 each, Singanallur and Sulur 21 each, Mettupalayam 16, Coimbatore North and Pollachi eight each, Kinathukadavu 13 and Valparai nine.
