Workers’ associations get ready to celebrate May Day

Members of various associations will be celebrating May Day at all the six centres in Coimbatore on May 1.

In a statement, S. Arumugam, one of the coordinators of the union of workers associations, said that flags will be hoisted in specific industrial areas of Coimbatore City, Pollachi, Mettupalayam, Sulur, Annur, and Valparai in the morning.

“A rally will also be held in the evening,” he added.

Further, the associations have also stated the members will be campaigning for the DMDK-PWF-TMC alliance in the state assembly elections.
