“Show the rest of the world that you have more ability than disability in you,” said Superintendent of Police RV Ramya Bharathi speaking to the inmates of Ganga Spine Injury Rehabilitation Centre, Kavundampalayam, on the occasion of World Disability Day.

She flagged off a wheelchair rally, from the centre’s premises, together with Rotary Club of Coimbatore Central president Rtn S Manickam.

Around 33 specially abled people on wheelchairs and 35 nursing students of the Ganga Institute of Health Science participated in the rally.

Dr Jayanthasri Balakrishnan, Professor at PSG College Of Arts And Science, in her inspiring speech, said, “You have many people around you to help and inspire you, but all their efforts will be in vain if you don’t believe in yourself. You have to believe in yourself and then you can achieve anything. Then, your disability won’t matter, because people will only look at your achievement.”

The centre’s director Rama Rajasekaran thanked the Rotary Club for being part of this event.
