Coimbatore: To commemorate World Environment Day that falls on June 5th, Environmentalist Foundation of India has organized an effort that is aimed at cleaning major portions of water bodies to ensure that they are garbage-free for all life forms.

To reclaim the loss of habitats, EFI has been involved in cleaning and restoration of lakes across 8 states in India.

On 3rd June, volunteers geared up with cleaning instruments and went ahead to clean Krishnampathy Lake in Coimbatore and removed non- degradable wastes, rubber, plastics, construction debris and more. Over 1.5 tons of wastes were removed with the help of Corporation Sanitary workers.
