Fearing that he would score very low marks in Plus Two examinations, a 17-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging, in his house in Periyanaicken Palayam on the outskirts of Coimbatore today.

Shaktiganesh, son of Nataraj, a retired postal employee, was a student of a private school in Karamadai, some five kilometres from his house. He was found hanging dead in the room. He had committed suicide when his parents had gone out, police said.
