It is a wrong step to change the education system so as to to suit the NEET and instead government should concentrate in upgrading the present uniform syllabus, DMK MP, Kanimozhi said today.

The Government has failed to upgrade the present Uniform syllabus and is unnecessarily attempting to change, keeping in mind NEET, Kanimozhi told reporters here.

Stating that nobody was looking down at the doctors from Tamil Nadu as lesser qualified, she said that it was a myth that one can get high quality medical education only through NEET.

Government has failed to upgrade the present uniform syllabus and at least now they should concentrate to do it every year, she said.

Kanimozhi, here to attend a meeting against NEET and Hindi Imposition by the Centre, alleged that the government was not functioning in Tamil Nadu and was interested only in safeguarding it.

In order to protect the government and ministers from the Centre, it was accepting such schemes, which were against the interest of the people of Tamil Nadu, she alleged.

Kanimozhi refused to comment on the raids on former finance minister, P Chidambaram and his son Karti Chidambaram.
