Youth drowns in Cauvery

Thanjavur: A youth, who had been bathing in the Cauvery river in Thiruvidaimarudur today, died after he was washed away by the current.
Karl Marx, 21, an electrician by profession and resident of Madhakoil street in Thiruvidaimarudur was bathing in the Theerthavari bathing ghat along with his friends when he was washed away.
On being informed, fire and rescue service personnel rushed there, conducted an extensive search and fished out his body. Thiruvidaimarudur police have registered a case and are investigating.
