Youth drowns while attempting to save cow

In a tragic accident, an 18-year old, who attempted to save a cow from drowning in a water body, drowned in the same water hole near P.N. Palayam here on Sunday.
According to sources, the deceased B. Gurusamy from Tirunelveli was reportedly working as an electrician in a private firm near P.N. Palayam for the past two years. On Sunday, a cow belonging to the firm had reportedly fallen inside the water and in an attempt to save the cow; Gurusamy had dived into the water.
However, Gurusamy did not know swimming and he himself drowned in the act of saving and was rushed to CMCH hospital, but was pronounced brought dead by the doctors.
A case has been registered with the P.N. Palayam sub division police and they have started the investigation.
