KOTTAYAM: Members belonging to the BJP began their 24-hour fast in front of the Secretariat on Tuesday in protest against the lynching of a tribal youth in Palakkad last week.
Led by BJP state chief Kummanam Rajashekharan, the protesters condemned the killing of Madhu. “The Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, is the main accused in the case,” Kummanam said. (A tribal youth Madhu was lynched to death for allegedly stealing rice in Palakkad last week)
Participating in the protest, Member of Parliament Ram Vichar Netam, who is also the President of ST Wing of BJP, said the Parliament should discuss the matter. “The Centre has allotted huge amount of money for the welfare of tribals,” he said.
O Rajagopal, MLA, and several others participated in the protest.
