Now Balram attacks VS for enjoying Govt. perks

Covai Post Network

Congress MLA V.T. Balram, who is in a centre of controversy over his remarks against country’s first Opposition Leader in Lok Sabha and veteran Communist leader A.K. Gopalan, has criticised nonagenarian CPI-M leader V.S. Achuthanandan for ‘enjoying the luxuries with his family’ by staying in Government bungalow, driving in State cars, enjoy the perks of a Cabinet Minister.

In his Face book post, Balram said the world not only belongs to the old who enjoy all the perks at public expense, but also to the youth.

He said VS had followed the policy of peeping into the personal life of his political adversaries. “Raising personal allegations against adversaries is a weakness of oneself,” he said.

Earlier, the Congress member had questioned the age difference between A.K. Gopalan and Susheela Gopalan and also the fact that he had married a second time when he was legally wedded to his first wife. The post also described AKG as a middle-aged man who fell in love with Susheela when she was around 12 years old.

Achuthanandan joined the issue with Balram by writing in his party mouthpiece Deshabhimani. Balram, in turn, criticised VS’s statement where he equated Gandhiji and AKG.

(In his Face book post a few days back Balram called AKG a pedophile for falling in love with Susheela when she was only 12. The Congress immediately distanced itself from the statement).
