Protest against Syro Malabar Archbishop for alleged corruption.

Covai Post Network

Kochi: A group of faithfuls protested against Syro Malabar chief Archbishop cardinal Mar George Allencherry allegedly involved in financial irregularities.

Archdiocesean Movement for Transparency (AMT) organised the protests in front of Bishop’s house here.

The gagged protesters carried placards highlighting their demads including his resignation from the post .

The faithfuls had filed a case before the Kerala High Court which had sought clarifications from the cardinal.

He had told the court that the church property was private and he had the power to dispose it and a third party had no business to interfere in church activities.

The protesters said that the clarifications given by him were not satisfactory as the church property was owned by a trust.
