Thrissur: Public meetings and holding of rallies have been banned in the wake of intelligence report that there could be chances of communal flareup in Kozhikkode in the name of rape of a minor in Kashmir.
The restrictions have been imposed under the of Kerala Police Act 78,79 for a week in Kozhikode.Police banned propaganda of messages and posters instigating communal feelings.

Possessing arms or their production were also banned. The protests planned by SDPI against the Kashmir rape have been cancelled in view of the prohibitory orders.
