The LDF Government in Kerala has accepted the Justice P S Antony panel report giving former minister A K Saseendran a clean chit in the honey trap set up by a TV channel.

Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the report was submitted to the government on Tuesday.

There was no hurdle in reinstating Saseendran of NCP who resigned after falling into the trap, Vijayan added.
He said a decision in this regard would be taken collectively, he said.

There were 16 suggestions in the report which include suspension of the licence of the private regional TV channel involved in defaming Saseendran.

Vijayan said there was need for self restraint by media and those in the public sphere. There should be laws to control TV channels, the report suggested. There was need to probe if there was any folly on the side of the police.

A secretary-level team had been set up to consider the suggestions of the commission Pinarayi said.
He also denied reports of his involvement in blocking media into the Secretariat on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister’s Office had not given any direction in this regard, he asserted
Meanwhile, Congress leaders Ramesh Chennithala, V M Sudheeran opposed reinduction of Saseendran into the Cabinet.
