KOTTAYAM: Director-General of Police Loknath Behera on Friday hailed actor Sanusha, who showed courage to nab a man who tried to sexually abuse her in a train when her co-passengers just stood witnessing the incident.

Sanusha handed him over to the police, for which she was felicitated at Thiruvananthapuram by the top cop in his office.

“We are proud to have such a brave girl,” Behera said while presenting her with a certificate for showing courage in an adverse situation.

Sanusha was travelling in the AC compartment of the Maveli Express on Wednesday when a co-passenger, Anto Bose (40), a native of Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, attempted to sexually abuse her. The actor, with the help of two more passengers, handed him over to the police.

The Thrissur Railway Police arrested him based on Sanusha’s complaint.

Thanking the police department for the support, Sanusha condemned the indifferent attitude of other co-passengers.
