Sreedharan, in a letter conveyed the Corporation’s decision to the Government. The decision was taken after a letter from Sreedharan requesting the Government to arrive at a decision on awarding contracts for the flyover project for Light Metro before February 15 failed to elicit any response.

DMRC offices in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode started winding up from February 28. The employees have been informed of termination of the contract and the office will be shut by March 15.A total of Rs. 7746 crore project was envisaged for augmenting public transport in the two cities.
