Coimbatore – Crafts Council of Tamil Nadu – CCTN was inaugurated in Coimbatore in 1988. Our main objective is to encourage Indian Craftsmen & Weavers. We work towards providing skill development, product design & packaging guidance to improve their market.
CCTN through its “CRAFT BAZAAR” provides a platform to the crafts people (Both textiles and handicrafts) from all over India to exhibit and sell their wares. This Craft Bazaar translates into action our main objective of existence, which is to show case art, craft & handloom and offer a platform for craftsmen to exhibit their wares to a large customer/consumer base. This year there are over 100 stalls from Assam to Kerala, with the following line-up.
ART: Pichwai, Kawad, Madhubani, Phad, Pattachitra, Warli, Gond, Miniature paintings, Bangla Pattacithra, Guruvayur murals.
CRAFT STALLS: Brass, glass and wooden artefacts, Bead, Lac & Glass bangles, Dokra, Juties, Reed & waste cloth mats, Dry flowers, Hand made chappals from Pondicherry , Metal, Terracotta, Kalchatti, Blue pottery, Leather chappals, Mosaic glass, Hammocks, Bamboo craft, Kolhapuri chappals, wood carving.
Shell, Mother of Pearl and Horn, Leather puppets, grass baskets, copper bells, quilted bags, stone pottery, Cane and Bamboo products, Sholapith, Palmyra baskets, embroidered bags, Hand printed bed sheets, quilts, Assam Cane and Bamboo products, Kilim baskets bags and accessories, Laces.
TEXTILES: Bagh, Dabu, Sanganeri prints, Toda, Kashmiri, Kalamkari, Chanderi, Phulkari, Shibori, Narayanpet, Venkatgiri, Kotpad, Gadwal, Ikkat, Odissa & Bengal cotton.
Patolas, Chikankari, Tie and dye, Kutch shawls, Bhujodi Kala cottons, Crochet, Tussars from Bodh Gaya. Kantha work, Bikaner hand embroidery, Ajrakh, Kota sarees, Molkalmuru Sarees, Mubarakpur weaves, Urmul Sarees.
