Tirupur: Flood warnings has been issued to people living on the banks of the river Noyyal by Tirupur district administration as heavy rain continued.
The catchment areas in Coimbatore district received a consistent inflow of water due to the good rainfall in the last couple of days.

With more than 250 houses along the river banks, officials said the alert was just a precautionary one and the authorities would keep track of the water level. The alert was sounded due to the steady and consistent flow of water into the river. A lot of people lived in low lying areas, and it was common for them not to notice the rise in water level when they returned at night.
