With the Centre telling that it cannot do anything on Jallikattu as the case was pending with the Supreme Court, supporters who have been protesting in the VOC Grounds here for the past two days said the protest would continue.
Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, who was in New Delhi to meet the Prime Minister, said the State Government would work along with the Centre to make Jallikattu happen.
The protesters, who were awaiting a positive result, were disappointed as the Centre could not pass an ordinance.
“We have been waiting for the past three days and students have been protesting all over the State. The Centre has been a mute spectator. It is like insulting us and our protest,” said T. Parthiban.
He further added said that the Centre should immediately pass an ordinance. “The State Government should call for an all-party meeting,” he said.
Another student added that the protest would not stop until bulls are lead through the Vadivasal and People for Ethnic Treatment of Animals (PETA) be banned from the country.
