Singapore Airlines commences Coimbatore-Singapore flights, daily

Coimbatore : Committed to growth in India, the 3rd largest market in the World, Scoot the low cost arm of the Singapore Airlines has commenced daily operations on Coimbatore-Singapore route, a senior official said today.

The launch of Coimbatore-Singapore flights was part of is continued push to offer greater value and travel opportunities in the Indian market, Scoot Senior Specialist Communications, Fu Koi Li told reporters here.

The non-stop daily return services on the route was launched on October 27, the Deepavali day and over 70 per cent of the maiden flight passengers were travelling solo, he said.

The service is operated on Scoot’s fleet of narrow-body Airbus A320-family aircraft and the route had been transferred from sister airline, SilkAir and the daily frequency was an increase from SilkAir’s previous five-ties weekly schedule, he said.

Refusing to divulge details of the revenue, Li said that India is the third largest overseas market for the company and even growing with customer base.

” We expect to continue our growth momentum with double digit for the next few years. Current Six South India cities versus Amritsar in terms of seat capacity stands at 85 per cent and 15 per cent respectively,” he said.
