Coimbatore : A 35-year-old woman was killed and her husband seriously injured, when a jelly-laden lorry fell on their house at Sungam Bypass in the city in the early hours of today.

The tipper lorry carrying jelly stones was proceeding to Pachapalayam when it suddenly swerved and hit the house, resulting in collapse of sidewall, which fell on Victoria, who was sleeping. The accident happened around 4 am.

The lorry fell sideways on the house and poor visibility was said to be the reason for the mishap, according to police.
