Accused says Manju, Remya and Lal plotted actor abduction

Kochi: In a new twist to the actor abuse case, actors Manju Warrier, Remya Nambeesan and Lal and ad film director Shrikumar Menon were accused of plotting the abduction by an accused.

The second accused Martin said the abduction was a stage-managed exercise to trap actor Dileep. Manju Warrier was gifted with an apartment in Mumbai and a role in of ‘Odiyon’ directed by Menon for trapping Dileep and others, he told mediapersons when he was brought to the principal sessions court where trial in the case is on.

He said he wanted to speak out more and told the court about everything. Martin said he had full belief in the judiciary and hoped to get justice. Martin, 24, was the driver of the car in which the abducted actor was traveling from Thrissur to Ernakulam on February 17, 2017.

The actor’s car was hit by another car in which the accused, including Pulsar Suni, were travelling, according to prosecution. The accused boarded the car of the actor and abused her which was recorded in a mobile phone.

According to prosecution, actor Dileep was the mastermind of the crime to settle scores with the abducted actor for spoiling his family life ending in divorce with Manju Warrier.
