The attack was a retribution to the ‘Chandrika’ daily photographer taking pictures of the RSS activists assaulting a two-wheeler rider during a protest rally by RSS against recent attack on RSS office.

The photographer, Fuvad Saneem, and reporter Shahabas Vellil ran away when the RSS activists attacked them and took refuge in the Press Club. The activists followed them and assaulted them in the club.

Saneem suffered injuries and his mobile phone was snatched from him. He was admitted to hospital with injuries.
