Ilavarasi released on parole

Ilavarasi, a relative of the late Jayalalithaa aide Sasikala, was released on parole from the Bangalore Central Prison, Parappana Aghara, on Thursday afternoon. She along with Sasikala was convicted in a disproportionate assets case.

Prison officials said she had applied for a 15-day parole on Tuesday to visit her ailing brother in Chennai. She has been ordered to return on November 8.
